Good afternoon all my followers. Saturday me and Angelique decided to go to Durbanville and explore that small town in the western cape. Our aim was the Durbanville nature reserve and the rose garden. Afterward, we would have a light lunch and visit the foot market. Well, our day didn’t go as planned. The Durbanville nature reserve was a huge disappointment and not maintained. We felt disappointed and decided to let us have a light lunch before we went to the rose garden. Now this is where we found Durbanville’s hidden gem. We found the Chocelat Bristo. When we arrived there even before we walked in, we could see this restaurant was just something out of another era in life. It was as if you went back to the 1700’s, from the front door back to the back side of the restaurant the decor was antique and spoke 1700’s. As Angelique and I are into antiques, this was immediately a favorite. The atmosphere was calm relaxed and joyful. Angelique believe it or not our waitress’s name, took us to our seats where we could enjoy the antique display. I ordered my usual huge cappuccino, and Angelique ordered a chocolate milkshake. We browsed through the menu, and I decided on a pulled lamb sandwich on sourdough bread and Angelique wanted a scone with jam and cream. While sitting there we just chatted and decided that this restaurant is worth a visit again and that we like what we see. The service was good the prices of the food were in a good price range but most of all the food was very delicious, and I enjoyed my pulled lamb sandwich a lot. When we were done, we went and bought some of their small cakes and headed to the rose garden. To our disappointment, the rose garden was in the same shape as the nature reserve. Not look well after and if there were 50 roses it was a lot. We then went to Willow Bridge foot market. We thought it would be a fresh foot market with stalls. Well, our idea of a market and Willow Bridge’s idea of a market are not the same. The market was a few chain restaurants. We then headed home as our day only had one good thing the restaurant. If we ever go to Durbanville again it will be for the Chocelat Bristo and nothing else. On top of it all I got a speeding ticket. Oh, my word I can’t believe I got one, but remember I was a cop before, and driving fast is kind of my thing. LOL. #Chocelatbristo #eatandsleep #food #restauratns
