Kleinood Wine Estate: Wines & Olive Products

Good Morning, Everyone!

Today, we’re wrapping up the final leg of our Stellenbosch wine route journey with a visit to Kleinood Wine Estate. This small, family-owned estate offers a unique experience, combining exceptional wines with a stunning setting that includes olive trees, herbs, and more. After today, we’ll take a short break from wine routes, but for now, let’s explore the beauty and offerings of Kleinood Wine Estate.

What is Kleinood?

Kleinood, an Afrikaans word derived from Dutch, translates to “something small and precious.” This family-owned farm is indeed a hidden treasure, spanning just ten hectares of vineyards and two hectares of olive trees. But Kleinood is much more than just a vineyard and olive farm. The rest of the land features a variety of fynbos, roses, irises, vegetables, and herbs. Additionally, the forest where two rivers converge has been left wild, offering a stunning natural landscape that will undoubtedly leave you in awe. It’s a breathtaking view that truly captures the essence of this area.

Boerin – A Unique Shop at Kleinood

However, Kleinood isn’t only about wine, olives, and lush plant life. Behind the glasshouse, shaded by ancient oaks, you’ll find Boerin. This unique shop offers a diverse range of artisanal products, from olive oil and herbs to honey, soaps, candles, potpourri, and even natural perfumes. It’s a place where you can immerse yourself in the small, precious wonders of Kleinood and feel right at home in nature’s embrace.
