Airbnb or Booking.com

When we came to Cape Town, we had to stay for a few months in an Airbnb, booking.com, or even Lekkerslaap accommodation. We stayed in Strand for 7 days, then Struisbay for a few days, before we went to Keurbooms next to Plettenberg Bay for about 14 days. We had to return to Cape Town after our so-called holiday. In Cape Town we booked a place in Woodstock, not knowing that Woodstock is called the black hole of Cape Town. It was referring to the black hole in the castle. We didn’t stay more than 20 minutes before we booked into a hotel. After that night we got a place in Bloubergstrand. Where we stayed for a few days here and a few days there. Eventually, we booked for 2 months at a place in Big Bay called Big Bay Beach Club Unit 179 belonging to Julian and his wife. Of all 3 of our long stays, this was the best place we stayed at. Julian was on the ball. If I called or what’s app he responded immediately and helped where it was needed. The unit was on the second floor, and security was very tied. We had a stove a washing machine, a microwave, an iron and iron board, a nice fridge enough cutlery and plates ext. The lounge was big, and the couches were comfortable and big enough to sleep on. There was a big tv and good Wi-Fi. The balcony was closed so we made it into an office and that was the best. My room was a bit like the old days and as an antique freak, I liked it. The bed was very nice as well as the pillows, which is very comfortable. The second room had a bunker bed which was double the bottom bed and three-quarters the top bed. Unfortunately, the mattresses were a bit worn out but still good to sleep on. The pillows were ok. The bathroom was big enough and the tiles weren’t that slippery. There was a bathmat so the chances of you slipping was very low. There were enough towels for us to use comfortably. There was enough of everything for us. Julian also gave us a cleaner weekly as we stayed for months and as a bonus. We didn’t have to pay for any electricity, nor did we pay for water which I was very happy about as we did pay a huge amount for winter rates. To me, Big Bay Beach Club was the best long-stay place we had. We booked through booking.com. I give this place a 4 out of 5. The only reason I deducted 1 star is that the bottom bed of the bunker bead broke and the mattress and pillows there were not as good as the main bedroom. Julian is the best host in accommodation by far. The security and parking were good and efficient. The estate was secured and there were loads to do there. Truly a gem in Bloubergstrand. If I need accommodation again in that area I will go to Big Bay Beach Club again. Booking.com win this one for me.
