Beau Constantia Wine Farm: A Hidden Gem in Cape Town
Good morning, everyone! Today, we’re thrilled to share our experience at Beau Constantia, the third wine farm we visited on this unforgettable day of wine tasting. The moment we arrived, we were captivated by its breathtaking views—this vineyard is truly a must-visit in the Cape Town region.
A Brief History of Beau Constantia
Beau Constantia was established in 2000 after the Du Preez family acquired the land. Originally, it was a goat farm, but after a massive fire, the Du Preez family transformed it into a boutique wine estate. Today, Beau Constantia produces approximately 45,000 bottles of wine per year, with a primary focus on exports. However, you can find select bottles in Cape Town wine stores or order online for delivery.
Focus on Red Wines and Unique Blends
While Beau Constantia is renowned for its red wines, they also produce a limited selection of whites. One of their standout labels is Pasdenom, a name inspired by the owner who opted for this unique name rather than his own. The Beau Premium range features wines named after family members, such as the Luka, a Merlot blend with Cabernet Franc, and the Aiden, a Bordeaux-style Shiraz with Petit Verdot. For those who love Shiraz, Stella (98% Shiraz, 2% Viognier) is a rich choice.
Beau Constantia also offers an affordable Rosé option, as well as an MCC (Méthode Cap Classique) that rivals the taste of French Champagne. Its subtle bitterness adds a unique character to its flavor profile, making it perfect for any celebration.
Wine Pricing at Beau Constantia

- 2023 Sauvignon Blanc: R160 per bottle

A Memorable Visit with Stunning Views
Beau Constantia offers more than just wine; the vineyard also boasts an amphitheater that often hosts events and gatherings, adding another reason to visit. This was easily one of the best wine farms we’ve toured, and the stunning views alone are worth a return visit. We’re already looking forward to our next trip to Beau Constantia!
Till next time!
Oh wow what a lovely place!
