Langebaan remains a favorite for a reason. While it often gets hyped online, we wanted to see for ourselves what this coastal town really has to offer. What followed was a laid-back yet surprisingly full day with real character and a few great surprises. If you’re looking for things to do in Langebaan, keep reading.
First Stop: Vintage 2 Decor – A Walk Through Time
We started our day at Vintage 2 Decor, a charming little shop nestled near the waterfront lagoon. This isn’t your ordinary décor store. Think vintage clocks, classic cameras, and even antique Singer sewing machines—pieces you don’t just see every day. The music added to the atmosphere, and the friendly owner made browsing even more enjoyable.
If you’re planning a visit to Langebaan, be sure to stop here. You’ll need both space in your car and some spending money—trust us. One standout item? A young woman’s chest that looked like it belonged in a museum.
Brunch That Doesn’t Break the Bank: GB Cafe Langebaan
After our stroll through history, we headed to GB Cafe for brunch. The service was fast and welcoming, the food hit the spot, and—importantly—the prices were more than reasonable.
Whether you’re in town for the weekend or passing through, GB Cafe offers a relaxed and satisfying stop to fuel the rest of your day.
Bookworms, This One’s for You: Langebaan’s Second-Hand Bookshop
Next on our list of things to do in Langebaan was a visit to Robert Stoltekamp’s second-hand bookshop, run from his home. The collection? Massive. Books line every shelf and corner, and all proceeds go to charity.
While Angelique played with the family poodle and browsed for her next read, I had a heartfelt chat with Joke Stoltekamp about everything from life to literature. By the end, I found a copy of Angelique and the Pirate—a book I’ve searched for since childhood. Prices are low, the vibe is personal, and you’ll often see them at the local markets too.
It’s these authentic stops that truly stand out when you’re listing things to do in Langebaan.
Club Mykonos: Mixed Feelings, Windy Views
No Langebaan trip is complete without a stop at Club Mykonos. While the views are undoubtedly striking, the overall vibe felt overly commercial. It just didn’t match the genuine charm we experienced elsewhere.
That said, the sea breeze was unforgettable—both in intensity and in how it made the view come alive. If you prefer less of a crowd and more character, you might enjoy the rest of Langebaan more.
Wrapping Up: A Day Well Spent
Before heading home, we reflected on everything we packed into one relaxing day. Langebaan has its own pace and personality, and while not every stop will blow you away, the overall experience is worth repeating.
