Spring in South Africa has officially arrived, and it already feels like a brand-new season filled with energy and light. While Cape Town’s locals like to say that spring only begins in September, the flowers and crisp air are already showing signs that nature has its own calendar.
A Season That Feels Alive
The change in the air is undeniable. The skies look clearer, the scent of flowers hangs around, and everything feels brighter. Walking outside now feels different compared to just a few weeks ago—it’s a time when South Africa shows off its natural charm.
The Beauty of a Blood Moon
As if spring in South Africa didn’t bring enough beauty, nature surprised us with a blood moon last night. The glowing red moon had everyone reaching for their cameras and phones. I managed to capture a few pictures before it disappeared behind the clouds. Even so, it was breathtaking—definitely not the kind of moon you see every day.
What’s Ahead for Eat and Sleep
Big things are coming for me and my three children, and I’ll share those adventures here when the time is right. In the meantime, Eat and Sleep has expanded services to make life a little easier for travelers. We now offer a shuttle service from Cape Town International Airport to any destination within a 150 km radius. That means stress-free travel: we’ll drop you at your destination and collect you again when it’s time to head back to the airport.
Along with transport, we’ve also opened advertising opportunities on our website, TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram pages. The idea is simple—support tourism in South Africa by giving businesses multiple platforms to share their message.

Looking Forward
Spring in South Africa feels like a reminder that brighter days are ahead. With flowers blooming, the air shifting, and exciting projects on the way, this season promises new beginnings. I’ll bring more updates soon, but for now, I hope you enjoy the first hints of spring as much as I do.
Until next time, have a wonderful week!
